The principle function of the Tax Collection Office is the billing and collection of all property taxes for the State of Maryland and Garrett County. In addition, we also serve as the collection point for several other County Government revenues.

These revenues include:
Billing & Collection of Accommodation Taxes
Collection of Trailer Park Taxes
Collection of Coal Tonnage Taxes
Landfill Bond Tax
Ad Valorem Taxes
Garrett County Sanitary District (Water & Sewer)
Garrett County Animal Licenses

Garrett County has launched the Information Portal - an online payment mechanism capable, at this time, of accepting property taxes, personal property taxes, and Sanitary District Charges (Water & Sewer).

Miscellaneous Information

  • If you own property in Garrett County, please notify the Assessment Office of any address change.
