All non-refrigerant appliances continue to be accepted at the Garrett County Landfill for a one cent per pound fee. However to provide a greater level of convenience, water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, etc. may also be taken to the Grantsville, Mt. Nebo, Backbone Mtn., and Bumble Bee collection sites upon purchasing and affixing a $5.00 bulk item sticker. These stickers may be purchased in person or by mail from the Garrett County Landfill, at the four refuse collection sites named above, or at local retail businesses, including Get n Go, Oakland; Arrowhead Market, Deep Creek Lake; Chestnut Ridge Amoco, Grantsville; Swanton Grocery, Swanton; and Foodland Fresh, McHenry..

If you wish to dispose of bags of household refuse at the Garrett County Refuse Collection Sites in a vehicle that does not have a refuse permit affixed to it, you may purchase individual bag stickers. The cost is $0.50 per sticker and may be purchased in any quantity. You may purchase them in person or by mail at the Garrett County Landfill, at all six of the refuse collection sites, or at selected local retail businesses. Each sticker allows you to dispose of one 13 gallon trash bag. If you have bags larger than 13 gallons, you must affix two stickers to each bag.
